Typewriters and Spartans

Jun Takeuchi, the producer of Resident Evil 5, has revealed that the game will not use the trademark typewriters that all previous installments of the series have used as save points. This is by no means a big deal, but it does bring a small tear to my eye... Also, Stuart Beattie has presented a movie script to Bungie for a Halo movie who is in turn in talks with Microsoft. The movie script is based on the novel "Halo: The Fall of Reach." If this comes to fruition and doesn't suck, I will be a happy man.

I'm also going to miss the typewriters, CH33Z. I wonder how saving will work in RE5 then. Good news about the Halo movie script, assuming they do the game justice.

By the way, I noticed you have a 360... do you also have a PS3? If you don't, I suggest you take a look at this Stacker 2 contest going on right now where you can win one (along with Rise of the Argonauts and 6 Hour Power energy shots, which are great for gaming sessions). There are less than 400 entrants, and all you have to do to enter is design a 6 Hour Power t-shirt (which is surprisingly easy to do online). For contest details, go here: http://www.brickfish.com/Entertainment/Stacker2?tab=overview

By the way, I hope you don't mind me commenting on your blog. I work with 6 Hour Power, so if you have any questions about the contest just let me know. Be sure to tell me if you enter too, as I'd be happy to vote for your designs. Good luck.

From the article it seems like RE5 is going to just have passive auto-saves at checkpoints and level changes and stuff like that. And no, I don't have a PS3, I haven't found a reason that would make it a worthwhile investment for me yet.
